Why Wave White is a fan-led movement asking a simple question about Atlanta Falcons game day: Why wave white?
Atlanta is one of the most distinctive cities in America. Its music, culture, civil-rights legacy, business community, art, neighborhoods, and sports identity were built here.
Yet on game day, thousands of Falcons fans are often handed white flags and asked to turn the stadium white.
A white flag has long been recognized as a signal of truce or surrender.
On game day, we’re asking it to mean the opposite.
Why Wave White is about bringing Falcons fans and the organization together to create something uniquely ours.
It’s about imagining what comes next.

THE IDEA
Why Wave White believes Atlanta Falcons game day deserves a tradition that reflects the identity, energy, and people of Atlanta.
The project is currently focused on:
• starting a conversation about the symbolism of white flags on game day
• building support for an Atlanta-born alternative
• inviting Falcons fans and the broader Atlanta community into the conversation
• eventually creating a participatory design process for what could come next
FOUNDER
Why Wave White was founded by Roberto Torreggiani, an Atlanta Falcons season ticket holder, after years of watching white flags fill the stands and wondering whether Atlanta could create something more meaningful of its own.
